2020 YSK Exhibition
August 10 - August 14
YSK, working with other partners, is organizing its 3rd National Science and Technology Exhibtion from the 10th-14th of August 2020 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC). The event will be attended by national and international guests drawn from the government, private sector, academia, civil society and other non-state actors and schools throughout the country.
Students from across all the 47 counties will be showcasing projects in 4 categories: Physical, Mathematical and Chemical Sciences; Technology; Ecological and Biological Sciences and Social and Behavioral sciences. There shall be one overall project winner with runners up and category winners for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. All these students are awarded prizes at a special ceremony which the YSK sponsors and partners – including the Ministry of Education, the Embassy of Ireland, Safaricom, and others – will attend.
The event will be an opportunity to showcase the scientific talents of the young participants and their solutions towards national development and attainment of the BigFour Agenda, Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The annual exhibition, based on lessons learnt from the BT Young Scientist & Technology exhibition experience in Ireland, Young Scientists Tanzania and other local science fairs such as the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair seek to provide a platform for the young people to showcase their talents in science, technology and innovation.
This platform also provides the young people with linkage opportunities with the Government, Academia, private sector, civil society and others for upscaling of the research and projects. This is the springboard for further research, technology and innovation.
The exhibition also provides an opportunity for the public to interact with the young people, to spur their interest in science and create a movement of young scientists for socio-economic development.
