Prizes will be awarded to Young Scientists Kenya prize winners in the following categories:
Overall Winners Young Scientists Kenya

Category Awards
The category awards take the form of First, Second and Third Prizes in each of the four categories: Chemical, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Technology, Biological and Ecological Sciences and Social and Behavioural Sciences
The category award prizes are as follows:

First Prize: Trophy plus cheque (30,000 KES per student, 10,000 KES for the teacher) plus Smart Phones for the 2 students from Safaricom PLC

Second Prize: Trophy plus cheque (20,000 KES per student, 10,000 KES for the teacher) plus Headsets for the 2 students from Safaricom PLC

Third Prize: Trophy plus cheque (15,000 KES per student, 10,000 KES for the teacher) plus Headsets for the 2 students from Safaricom PLC
In the event of a tie in any category, the prize money will be split equally.
Special Awards
A number of Special Awards will be presented in each category by the panel of judges – these awards are mostly pegged on our partner/sponsor organisations that are interested in supporting projects in a particular field.
Each special award winner gets a trophy plus a cheque (5,000 KES per student, 5,000 KES for the teacher). They also receive Headsets from Safaricom PLC.
The Mentor of the Year and Teacher of the Year winners each receive a 10,000 KES.
